Cornerstone Academy was recently named as a Distinguished Performance Title I, Part A School by the Division of NCLB Program Coordination at the Texas Education Agency for outstanding academic performance.

129 schools in Texas received the award (22 in Region IV). The criteria is:

  • Title I, Part A Campus 2004-05, 2005-06, 2006-07
  • 40% or more low-income in 2006-07
  • Met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in 2005 and 2006
  • Spring 2006 Exemplary
  • Spring 2005 Exemplary or Recognized, and
  • Spring 2004 Exemplary or Recognized
