The 2004 - 2005 Cornerstone basketball season was a very good one for both the teams.

The 7th grade team started the year by finishing fourth at the Second Baptist Tournament and then finishing the season with a record of 7 - 6. After their initial success the team struggled to achieve a winning record. However, by the end of the year the team was playing much better. In fact, following the semester break, the team finished the year by going 3 - 1. Randy Molina started the year by being named to the All-Tournament team at the Second Baptist tournament, and ended the year by being named the teams Most Valuable Player. Sean Burked was named the teams Most Improved Player because he worked hard all year and continually improved as a player.

The 8th grade team struggled to start the year and was not able to place in the Second Baptist Tournament. That was their only bump in the road though as they roared through the season with an 8 - 4 record. All four of the loses occurred in tournaments, none of them in the regular season. The team ended the year, and their careers at Cornerstone, in amazing fashion. They placed fourth at the Westbury Christian tournament, defeated KIPP Academy, then defeated the seventh grade team to earn the right to play a team of teachers.

Prior to this year the teachers had never lost to a team of students before. However, this years team defeated the teachers 58 to 52 in a very tightly contested game. Matthew Vaughn was named to the All-Tournament team at the Westbury Christian tournament, and followed that up by being named the team's Most Valuable Player. Matthew Kosmoski and Ryan Cribbs were named the team's Most Improved Players as the struggled to start the season and ended it by providing the team with some very important effort.
