This month, Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) welcomed more than 2,500 eighth graders for an engaging exploration of career and technical education (CTE) at the Guthrie Center for Excellence and the SBISD Agricultural Science Center. This annual event is designed to introduce students to various career pathways and help them plan for high school courses. View tour photo here.
Students participated in hands-on activities, including culinary demonstrations, crime scene investigations, and interactive discussions with Guthrie students and faculty. “It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain firsthand experience in what SBISD has to offer,” said Christina Rice-Imumwen, director of CTE in SBISD.
“The excitement is building for our students and families as they prepare for high school, especially with upcoming renovations and expansions under the 2022 Bond Program that will enhance our CTE offerings.”
As the school year progresses, middle and high school families are encouraged to explore the available programs by reviewing the CTE Program Guide available on the SBISD CTE website. This resource assists parents and students in selecting courses tailored to their interests and career aspirations.
